Remember the beginning of the pandemic? There was a certain point when it became clear that nearly all of us would, at some point, contract COVID. The purpose of social distancing, of wearing masks—of the lockdown in general—was to slow the spread of the disease so everyone didn’t get it all at the same time. We tried to “flatten the curve.”
With the passage of the president’s spending bill, and with the massive funding for ICE and the creation of an American police state, it should be clear by now that we’re on an authoritarian curve. Nearly all of us will, at some point, be affected by the growing wave of tyranny. Since we cannot stop it, our job now is to flatten the curve.
To flatten the authoritarian curve, we do the opposite of what we did during the lockdown. Instead of social distancing, we seek out opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors IN-PERSON. Rather than wearing masks (like an ICE agent), we proudly show our faces to the world as we stand up for what we believe. Instead of being locked down, we must go out and engage in our community. These are all acts of resistance.

On an unrelated note, the president threatened to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship. She was born in New York. While this seems like a joke or a publicity stunt, the president is trying to normalize a conversation about revoking the citizenship of anyone he doesn’t like. As I said last week, the word ‘immigrants” is code for anyone the administration deems undesirable. Here’s the president’s full post:
Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her.
Liking, sharing, or commenting on this post IS an act of resistance. Corridor Rabbit is meant to serve as a casual guide for how to start and grow an informal resistance group. It is not authoritative; it is a live journal documenting our efforts. It is a call to action. It's an invitation to connect and share what you are doing to resist authoritarianism.
