Thinking about civic engagement on Independence Day

Hello, patriots. It’s been a spell since I’ve published here. I’ve been directing my writing efforts towards my other project, The Unknowable Truth. My most recent Unknowable Truth essay talks about the importance of civic engagement, which intersects with Corridor Rabbit themes, so I thought I’d share it with you. Here’s a passage:

America is an idea that our founders invented out of whole cloth. Each successive generation reinvents the idea, tailoring it to the changing times and our evolving values. Every American participates in the daily recreation of America, or at least, they should. It is at once a precious gift and a heavy burden.
